POLITICO New York has a new online accounting major, with the state’s Department of Financial Services announcing the launch of the degree in a news release.
The online accounting program will allow students to learn more about accounting, as well as become involved in the state-owned bank that manages the state pension funds.
The new online degree will be offered at a four-year undergraduate degree program.
The department also announced that the state will soon begin accepting applications for the online bachelor’s degree, which is designed to teach financial management and financial literacy.
The announcement comes just weeks after Gov.
Andrew Cuomo announced a new statewide plan to offer online degrees in financial administration, public administration, and computer science, which he said would make the state “more competitive” in the online accounting market.
The new online program will be designed to give students a foundation in the areas of financial management, accounting, and the public’s role in ensuring that money is being spent properly.
The degree program is designed for students who want to work in a bank, such as a public or private employer, or for students pursuing a degree in computer science or finance.
Cuomo has said the online degree program will make New York a more competitive state in the digital economy, with more opportunities for employers to hire and retain qualified individuals.
New York has been a leader in offering online bachelor and master’s degrees since 2012.
