Microsoft is hiring a VP of Engineering to work at its technology group, the technology company said Tuesday.
The hiring, first reported by The Wall Street Journal, follows on from the announcement of a new senior vice president of engineering for the company in January.
The hiring is expected to create a significant level of talent in the technology group.
Microsoft declined to provide details about the new vice president.
Microsoft has been searching for a VP for more than a year and has hired two former Google and Microsoft engineers, a former Google executive and an independent analyst.
A Microsoft spokesperson declined to comment on the hiring.
