By getting the degree from a university online, students who can afford it can get the degree on a much lower cost than when they can get it at the local university.
The online program can cost up to $45,000 in total and can be completed online or on-campus.
The Bachelor of Social Work degree program has been offered at the University of Michigan for the past five years.
The degree is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the Association of American Colleges and Schools (HLCAS) and the Department of Education.
It was also awarded a two-year designation by the American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA).
The degree is offered online in both full- and part-time formats, and can take anywhere from two to six years to complete.
According to the U-M website, the program has about 3,000 applicants nationwide.
According to a 2016 report by the Council on Foreign Relations, about 20% of U.S. jobs are in industries that rely on knowledge of social work and social sciences, according to the Council.
