A Frozen Christmas Carol is the first animated feature film to win the Best Picture Oscar for a musical film in history.
The film’s director, Justin Lin, said the film was a celebration of what was possible in our world and the impact of our love for movies.
“Frozen is about the power of our imagination and love for art, but also the power and joy that comes with knowing that what we create is an expression of who we are,” he said.
“And that we can be part of the bigger story of how the world can be better, and we can all become more powerful together.”
Frozen opened in cinemas on December 21, 2017.
The movie’s score, performed by Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Kristen Anderson-Lopez, was the winner of the Best Original Song Oscar at the 89th Academy Awards on Sunday night.
