Nye is one of the most popular personalities in the world and his degree is an honorary degree.
He has won the prestigious “William H. Macy Jr. Fellowship in Astronomy” and the “John F. Kennedy Presidential Medal of Freedom” for his work promoting science and education.
Nye graduated from UMass Amherst with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 2011.
He is the only UMass student to have received both degrees.
Neeson said he has received numerous offers to appear in TV and film, but chose to give it a try.
He also has a small role in the upcoming “Nebula,” which is set to air on NBC.
“I’ve done a few things that are just not that popular that are not really that well-known to people that don’t know me,” Neeson told Fox News host Bill O’Reilly.
“So it’s not a huge deal.
But I love doing it.
I love being around people and being around science.”
